What Is Internet ?

The Internet is a network of networks. The Internet is a vast network that connects computers and mobile devices all over the world. Through the Internet, people can share information and communicate from anywhere with an Internet connection.

Father of Internet

Vinton Gray Cerf is an Internet pioneer and is recognized as one of “the fathers of the Internet”, sharing this title with TCP/IP co-developer Robert Elliot Kahn(Bob Kahn). Kahn won the Turing Award with Vint Cerf for their work on TCP/IP.

World Wide Web

The World Wide Web (“WWW”) is a global information medium which users can access via computers connected to the Internet. The term is often mistakenly used as a synonym for the Internet itself and often called “the Internet”.

The World Wide Web is a global collection of documents, images, multimedia, applications, and other resources, logically interrelated by hyperlinks and referenced with Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs), which provide a global system of named references.

The Internet Protocol (IP) is a protocol, or set of rules, for routing and addressing packets of data so that they can travel across networks and arrive at the correct destination. Data traversing the Internet is divided into smaller pieces, called packets.
